As well as the Defend the Dawn Release tour! ✈
It’s almost here! This is everything you need to know about the DEFEND THE DAWN release! If you have questions, let me know and I’ll update the post.
- If you’re planning on coming to a tour event, YAY!! I can’t wait to see you! Please be sure to register for your event. While every event will welcome attendees on site, we did run out of books for the FORGING SILVER tour at a couple tour stops. Bookstores try to plan for attendance, so it really helps if you register and/or buy a ticket in advance. All event details can be found at www.brigidkemmerer.com/events
- If you pre-order (including if you register for an event that includes a book purchase!!) be sure to submit a screenshot of your receipt so you can claim your DEFEND THE DAWN lapel pin! This is super easy and you can do it from your phone. This is limited internationally (I’m sorry!!), but full details are available at bit.ly/defendpreorder
- Yes, the B&N Exclusive Edition is now sold out online. This is a limited edition, and before release, a certain quantity is held for store placement. We don’t know if or when online availability will open back up. If you want the B&N Exclusive edition at this point you can either go to a B&N location on or after release date, or you can call and pre-order a copy from a physical location right now. You just can’t do it online.
- Yes, I will sign backlist titles (books brought from home) at tour events. A few notes on this: First, you will have to purchase a book from the store to enter the signing line. The stores are hosting the event for free, including use of their staff, space, electricity, etc., and this is out of courtesy and respect for the store hosting the event. Second, if you have more than 3 books to sign, we will ask you to wait for the end of the line, just out of courtesy to other readers. I never mind signing stacks of books (I’m honored!!) but as my backlist gets longer, it’s just not fair to make people with one or two books wait through super long lines behind people who’ve brought full crates and backpacks. I hope you understand.
- Photographs, hugs, handshakes, fist bumps, stories about motherhood, emotional meltdowns, questions about writing, arm wrestling challenges, it’s all fine. Bring it in. I love you all. Wellesley Books in Wellesley, MA is requiring masks and vaccination for attendance, but (as of right now) that’s the only one with any COVID restrictions that I’m aware of. If you have any concerns, please contact the store directly.
- Gifts! I’ve started receiving gifts at tour events and you all are SO LOVELY and I am SO GRATEFUL, but please know that I am traveling on 22,408 airplanes in a week (not really but it feels like it), so I can’t accept anything that can’t fit in a carry-on and can’t go through airport security. And gifts are NEVER EXPECTED! Please do not feel like you need to give me anything! I just feel terrible when I’m given several bottles of wine in the middle of a tour and my only options are to get absolutely hammered in one night or to make the hotel staff *really* happy.
- Finally, thank you. Thank you all so much. I can’t believe we’re on book # 15. This has been like a dream, and I’m honored you’ve all been a part of it.
